| I was just thinking today... i used to hate country music. i thought the artists were so gimmicky and it was stupid. and i used to love christian music and only listen to christian music. well, my ipod broke, and ive been listening to the radio for the last few days... and this is where i am now, as someone who's been a christian for 14 years...
i hate christian radio.
almost every song is a rip-off of some other part of the music industry. and (i feel like) all they do is say the same words that the song before them said. it's all the same phrases "make me whole", "i give my life to you"... i'm sorry, but i've heard those things way to many times for them to mean anything to me. maybe some people get touched by it... but i don't. if they'd save all that for worship at church, i bet it'd mean a lot more then... in true worship than it does driving in the car wanting something to tap you fingers to. and then i switch the dial to the country station, and listen to a song.... and really feel where the writer is coming from. i'm impacted by the story and i connect with it. granted, some songs are cheesy... but at least there's SOMEthing good there. so i just wanted to throw that out there. i just think it's kinda embarracing to be in the same group of people (christians) as the makers of christian radio. i think it gives a real cheesy name for christians. and i think it's pretty cool that some of the songwriters for the country stars out there are writing some good stuff now. haha. bye.
